Elie Saab Haute Couture Spring 2014

Inspired by the work of Dutch painter Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema, Elie Saab’s couture collection today was a floral fairytale.

Empire-line minidresses, chiffon-draped princess gowns with additional chiffon sashes at the neck, sheer bejewelled sheaths with skinny belted waists and huge bustle hipped wedding gowns, this was about dreamy fashion that transcends continents, age, trend or season.

"Women often ask me for dresses like the bridal one I showed today," Saab said after the show. "They want their dreams to come true and that’s what we try to do."

Photographer Austin Tott pairs the small with the grandiose in his series Tiny Tattoos. The delightful images feature hand-drawn body art that’s positioned against a background from which they visually reference.

The most beautiful cat cafe I have been to. It’s called Temari no Ouchi (Temari’s house) in Tokyo, Japan. The soft music and ambience feels like you are in a Studio Ghibli film. Had to take the Japan Railway there, but was totally worth the extra trip, & unlike the central Tokyo cat cafes, this one has no time limit, so feels totally relaxed. Several girls were even sleeping there amongst the cats.
